I hiked 260 miles of the Camino Frances in Northern Spain and documented the landscape and villages photographically. From these I produced montages on the theme of pilgrimage to the Cathedral of St James in Santiago de Compostela, the oldest continuous Christian pilgrimage site, second to Rome and Jerusalem. This composition combines multiple churches and religious sculptures on the way. The outer border design is a pattern I generated from three horreos, (storage structures for corn, grain or dried fish). The inner border is from a street tile of a shell. The shell is a symbol for pilgrims. $7200 63h x 48w
