The use of water, reflection and light in Islamic architectural space effectively dematerializes form as do as the elaborate tilings, screens and muqarnas (stalactite vaults). At close viewing distances, the photographic forms in my tilings are visible and distinct, but these dissolve into the broader context of geometric pattern at more typical viewing distances consistent with the aesthetic of dematerialization observed in Mudejar architecture. Photographic source material from this silk work was shot in Harrisburg, PA. $1250 72h x 36w
