The Rowan, The Thistle and Stillness

The rowan tree is native to the British Isles and is a symbol of protection. The thistle is the national flower of Scotland. The church, barn and cemetery were all part of a walking tour of Sanquhar on a bone-chilling afternoon, side-stepping puddles and passing by the interior windowsills of homes that had tasteful still life arrangements unique to each household. Artist's proofs and limited edition prints are available.
